"Partnering with Campaign Research & Strategy was a winning decision! CRS was able to help my team chart a path to victory in both a special election and re-election to my seat in the State House. CRS understands the importance of coordinating mail, phone, and grass-roots efforts to develop an effective over-all strategy. I recommend CRS to any candidate running for political office."

State Senator Clementa Pinckney retained the complete services of CR+S when he was challenged by two opponents in the 2008 Democratic Primary.

Pinckney was first elected to the State Senate back in 2000, at the young age of 27, when the previous State Senator from District 45 retired. For the four years prior to him being first elected to State Senate, Clementa represented a State House District based in his home of Jasper County that stretched into Hampton County, S.C.

In the 2008 primary, Pinckney's opponents were Democrats Bobbty Mayes and Richmond Truesdale Jr., who both came from Colleton County. We helped Pinckney with a wide array of services like developing his branding, phone messaging, direct mail, strategy, targeting, etc. Minimizing his opponents and making them appear as nothing more than fringe candidates was critical to the success of our strategy for Pinckney's re-election campaign

Taking nothing for granted, Pinckney ran hard and focused on his dedication and hard work for the people he represents across Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counties. In the end, as results came in on Primary night, Pinckney crushed his two opponents, securing 5252 votes (out of 6800 total votes casts) and capturing 77 percent of the vote in this three-way race.

After Pinckney secured the Democratic nomination in June, he was unopposed in the 2008 general election because no Republican filed for the seat.
