The Oklahoma Coordinated Democratic Campaign in 2002 engaged the services of CR+S to provide phone identification to target areas of Oklahoma to build up support, identify areas of follow-up work and energize the Democratic base for the 2002 statewide elections.
Among the statewide candidates who were assisted with this program was Democratic State Senate candidate Jay Paul Gumm. In 2002, when Gumm ran for his first term, he was challenged by Republican Stuart Rustin in this State Senate district that encompasses McCurtain County in Southeast Oklahoma.
Our services provided the Gumm campaign with the tactical strategy they needed to roll up a huge victory on Election night in Oklahoma. After all the ballots were counted, Gumm handily defeated Rustin when he earned 11,785 votes to Rustin's 8,685 votes, and won with 57.6 percent of the vote.
Our services for the Oklahoma Coordinated Democratic Campaign helped seven Democrats win elections to the 8 statewide constitutional offices in Oklahoma and pick up seats in both the State Senate and State House of Representatives.
