Democratic Congressman John Spratt from South Carolina is a longtime client of CR+S and the 2008 election cycle brought new challenges. This was due largely to the fact that the Troubled Asset Relief Program legislation of 2008 was being debated and passed in the heat of that election cycle.
Taking nothing for granted, Spratt engaged the services of CR+S to run a targeted phones program when he was challenged by Republican Albert Spencer in the general election of 2008. The results were wildly successful as the incumbent chairman of the House Budget Committee won EVERY county of the 5th Congressional District. After all the votes came in, Spratt was declared the winner of that election with nearly 62 percent of the overall vote.
When Spratt was challenged in 2006 by Republican multi-millionaire developer Ralph Norman, CR+S assisted the campaign by providing targeting and data services that helped him win more than 60 percent of the vote on Election Day. After winning that election, Spratt captured key committee positions important to the well-being of South Carolina when national Democrats reclaimed control of the U.S. House.
CR+S also assisted Spratt in 2004, when he was first challenged by Spencer. In that election cycle, our targeted phones campaign helped him win key counties in the district like York, Sumter and portions of Florence County.
