The Oklahoma Coordinated Democratic Campaign in 2002 engaged the services of CR+S to provide phone identification to target areas of Oklahoma to build up support, identify areas of follow-up work and energize the Democratic base for the 2002 statewide elections.
Among the statewide candidates who were assisted with this program was Democratic State Representative candidate Danny Morgan in Oklahoma House District #32. In 2002, Morgan ran in a re-match from two years earlier against the same opponent he faced two years earlier and lost to in Republican Kent Friskup. In that first race back in 2000, Friskup beat Morgan by more than 350 votes in this district that encompasses Lincoln County and a part of Creek County in Oklahoma.
In this race in 2002, our services were invaluable to the Morgan campaign and provided the needed tactical strategy to roll up a huge upset on Election night in Oklahoma. After all the ballots were counted, Morgan handily defeated Friskup when he earned 6,112 votes to Friskup's 5,549 votes, and won with 52.4 percent of the vote.
Our services for the Oklahoma Coordinated Democratic Campaign helped seven Democrats win elections to the 8 statewide constitutional offices in Oklahoma and pick up seats in both the State Senate and State House of Representatives.
