Campaign Research & Strategy helped Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District Representative Brad Carson when he drew two challengers in a Democratic Primary, after redistricting added 10 new counties to his district. These new counties were from the Southeastern part of the state, known as “Little Dixie,” and this area produced one of his challengers who was a State Senator and a former state Democratic Party chairman.
Carson, who was first elected to Congress in 2000, went on to defeat his two challengers and captured 64 percent of the vote to secure the nomination in the most Democratic-leaning Congressional District of the state. Congressman Carson went on to the general election and slaughtered his Republican opponent by a margin of 74-26 percent.
